EVALUATION 1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or chllenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Here are 9 screen shots of our opening sequence, the 9 screen shots are the scene where it is played backwards, this was inspired by a movie called Memento.

Here are the screen shots of the opening sequence of Memento

We have taken the idea of backward motion from Memento, even though our movie is very different, the style of the opening is relatively similar.
We followed the conventions of a thriller opening sequence but like Memento it has a slow seduction start, and we introduced the key character in the first shot. Like Memento our movie tittle is placed in a black background towards the end of the opening sequence.
We also kept to the traditional way of introducing the institutional production in the beginning of the movie. I believe that even though our opening sequence is not thrilling as the conventional thriller movie, it still sets the mood of the movie with its eery modern music and the dream scene.
The difference between Memento and our tittle sequence is that Memento starts with lots of close up shots, while our opening sequence starts with a pan and a wide shot of the mise en scene with lots of match cuts and close ups of our protagonist.
We didn't have a particular opening credit sequence, we just used the conventional opening credit with names and tittle over our movie.
